Google Earth 4.3 (beta) is now available - it’s available for all versions including the free version. You can download it from the Google Earth download page or download it on GEB’s download page. The Google Earth web site has been updated, and the User Guide now reflects 4.3 tips.

This is Google Earth 4.3 (beta) - an incremental update with new features and some pretty cool new data as well. Based on the last release, we’ll probably see an update to this version, fixing any problems that surface for the beta, and an official 4.3 will be released in a few weeks. Also, this is NOT a major new version (which presumably would be called GE 5.0 - and would contain a whole suite of new capabilities, data and interfaces). However, as mentioned in my earlier post, there are some significant new features.

  • After naming Google Gears the most innovative product of 2007, PC World is disappointed that very few important applications use Google’s technology. Gears is still an early product, but most of the news articles that mention it talk about making web applications available offline, even if Google Gears is much more than that. An important point from PC World’s article is that Google doesn’t show a list of applications that use Gears before installing the plug-in, so users don’t have too many reasons to try it. Here’s a list of some important applications that use Google Gears:

    * Google Reader
    - feed reader from Google
    - the Gears integration was added in May 2007
    - it lets you read the most recent 2000 posts offline, without having access to images and enclosures. You can also star posts or tag them.

  • A good SEOer interview

Even from today to study this interview of NFFC:  We still can find some useful things from it.
Actually, the good things always here.

Interview of NFFC, Sexy SEO God

    July 16, 2005

I have been a long time fan of the mysterious NFFC. He makes rather witty posts on SEO forums and blogs and has a way of seeing the big picture in an industry where most people are overly short sighted and reactive.

NFFC is an ex WMW admin, the man who named the Google updates and one of the coconspirators behind SEO Roadshow [check out there new blog for updates about this septembers event], and has probably helped me on the web more than any other person. I asked to interview him and he said sure. And so, as it goes, it went like this…

How & when did you get into search?
In to search itself 1995, the good old days of AltaVista [now that was a mans search engine!]. In to manipulating search engines for fun and profit late 1999.

  • In this article I show you my top twelve tips for creating effective Google AdWords Select ads [https://adwords.google.com/select/].

I’ve been testing the Google pay per click advertising system for a while, with much success. These tips will help you create ads that generate higher click through rates, and lower cost per click.

    1. Target The Right Audience
Target the right audience by selecting the language and countries that you want to target. For example, I exclude all countries where English is not understood by a large percentage of the population.

    2. Refine Your Keywords
Use square brackets “[…]” around your keyword/s.
    For example:
    [google]
    [google adwords]
Your ad will only show when the search is for the exact keyword phrase you have included within the brackets.
The ad will not show for searches that include other keywords. In our example, this would be for searches such as “google search,” or “google news.”
